Canadian-Asian mezzo-soprano Emma Parkinson is establishing herself among the new generation of classical artists. Emma has appeared as a soloist with the Vancouver Bach Choir for Handel’s Messiah, Mahler’s 8th Symphony and Duruflé's Requiem.  Emma made her debut with Vancouver Opera as Jade Boucher in a new production of Dead Man Walking, and debuted with Pacific Opera Victoria in the staged premiere of Rattenbury by Tobin Stokes.  She has performed with multiple symphonies across Canada including the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Kingston Symphony, Orchestre Métropolitain, and the Alberta Baroque Ensemble. Other notable performances include Orlofsky in Opéra de Montréal’s production of La Chauve Souris(Die Fledermaus) and Siébel in Faust, also with Opéra de Montréal. Emma made her European debut in Germany as Mercedes in a new production of Carmen with Seefestspiele Berlin. She is a three-time laureate of the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques and a proud recipient of the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artist Award.  Emma last performed with Burnaby Lyric Opera as the title role in Carmen.
